Wild Wednesday: ATCs
Hi there! This is Jane bringing you a post today about ATCs; Artist Trading Cards. Not only are they fun to make, but they are easy, relaxing, and addictive.
Why not post links in the comments so we can see yours? Following is a little background and information on ATCs, and then I’ve posted some of my own cards.

Background on ATCs
ATCs started in Switzerland in 1997 and have since become a cultural phenomena. Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are tiny works of art, usually done on card stock. They are traded between artists, through snail mail or in person. The face to face trading sessions are a fun part of the experience, although many people connect on the internet and trade by mail. The Cards can be made with any materials and media, and can be produced as one of a kind originals, limited editions, or in a series based on a particular theme or subject. Many artists use the Internet to show their cards and to find other artists willing to trade by mail, but organized face to face ATC sessions are the preferred means of meeting other artists and trading cards. Today, you will find ATC swap sessions happening in most major cities around the world.
What are the rules for ATCs?
They should measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches (64 X 89 mm), be traded for other cards—not sold, be flat enough to fit into a plastic trading card sleeve, and be signed and dated on the back of the card.

I hope you liked today’s post; remember to leave links to your own ATCs. We’d love to see them!

Those are gorgeous! I’m not creative enough to do stuff like that. I’m lucky if I can get my juices going for a blog post…lol!
Wow, Jane! Your ATCs are fantastic! I keep telling myself I’m going to try one but I haven’t yet.
Maybe we can organize a trade here at Texty Ladies?
I’venever made an ATC. Yours are cute!!
Thanks, Amber! I have more, but then I got so busy that I stopped making them. Maybe I’ll get back into it as soon as I get some time.
And I know you could make them! Cut out some playing card sized cards, or even use playing cards for your base, and then start gluing, painting, taping, stapling…whatever you want;) You should try one!
Hey Pam! You’ve made some cards, then? You should post them! We can talk about your suggestion tonight if you want:) Oh, I forgot, I have mentor tonight, unless you can come on early?
Thanks, Bunny! You should give it a try, it’s really fun
