Welcome to Poetry Play Thursday!
I’m sorry for the late post today. I’m feeling under the weather (where did that phrase come from?) today and so took the day off of work. While sitting here in my fogginess, I got to thinking, or what passes for thinking, about where I’d like to be instead and how poetry can often transport us to another place, like Djemaa el Fna, the famous market in Marrakesh, or maybe the blue waters of Fiji where you’ll take a dip after being kissed by sun and sand.
Your mission today is to write yourself to another location and bring us along for the ride. So, are we there yet?

Hey-I even got here on the right day for a change!
Great prompt–thank you.

Hi Tabitha! I just read your poem and left a comment on it. Excellent!
P.S. I’m sorry it took so long. As my post said, I was down for the count yesterday.
Hi sorry I am late..
…
Love this places and every one here:) just thanks a ton for letting me hang around
Travels
In all
The places
My feet
And boat
Have taken me,
Only one
Place stays
In my mind.
Cairo, where
The camels
Stink and spit
Where the
Goats are
Doing the
Wild thing
In the
Center of
The market place.
You would have thought
Rio, where the women
Dance and smell so good,
With Long legs that bend
All the way over their shoulders.
Even now I can smell their heat.
There’s no going back to Cairo,
But Rio I need to get tickets for.
